Why Modular Housing?

Built Indoors:

The construction materials are never exposed to the elements; so no swelling, warping or splitting of the lumber and plywood will be as likely to occur, which means your new home will not experience problems associated with wet materials, such as creaks, nail pops or worse yet, mould growth. Also, there is no chance for theft and waste materials are recycled, which means a savings to you and an environmental benefit.

Reduced Construction Time:

The construction time is significantly reduced from many months, possibly more than a year to just 4 to 6 short weeks. This creates savings in construction loan interest and likely a lot less stress to the home owner. Additionally, your new home will not be delayed due to inclement weather during construction since it is being built indoors where the skilled workers can build in well lit, safe, warm and dry conditions.

Guaranteed Price:

VI Modular Homes will  give you a guaranteed, fixed, price on your home, period. There will be no expensive cost overruns that can be common with site built construction.

Better Built:

Our 'systems built' construction method utilize large jigs and framing tables to construct the floors, walls and roof. The home is then assembled square and true with strong adhesives, nails/screws and even hurricane straps for a much stronger, straighter structure than any site built house would be. Every home is engineered to use the right amount of wood, fasteners, steel and glue so that it is built to last, yet be environmentally responsible.

Environmentally Responsible:

We are proud to be Energy Star® partners with our building facilities. Our homes are at least 30% more energy efficient than homes built just a decade ago, meaning savings in the thousands of dollars over the life of the home. Additionally, our modular homes significantly reduce green house gas emissions. Features of an Energy Star® Home include: improved insulation, advanced window technology, tightly sealed and insulated ducts, and reduced air infiltration through better building envelope construction.

Quality Control:

Every step of the building process is quality controlled and follows a detailed construction procedure. A typical VI Modular home will have had up to 20 hours of inspections by the time it is finished. All our homes are inspected by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) to ensure it meets or exceeds all Municipal, Provincial and Federal building code requirements. All of our homes come with a comprehensive warranty and qualify for financing with all mortgage lenders, including CMHC insurance backing.
